What is Things as They Are?

We are a small but growing network of young artistic people with lived experience of mental ill health. This may be mental health problems we have experienced ourselves, or perhaps the experiences of someone we know. We are aged 14 -25, and work with  teaching artists at York St John University and beyond. We aim to meet regularly to create, design and tell our way through the world and let people know what it is truly like to be young in 2017. We are ready to tell things as they are!

See some of our artwork in different media and artforms, meet the core team, find out why we formed, or watch our short film below.  And then get involved!
They said,
"You have a blue guitar, You do not play things as they are."
The man replied.
"Things as they are Are changed upon the blue guitar. "
- Wallace Stevens
